Strain-rate map derived from averaging results of the best 50 among 33,000 forward finite-element anelastic models. The 50 best models have been selected according to the minimum misfit between the model predictions and several experimental datasets. The strain-rate represents long-term averages and has been computed within models with partially-locked faults (effective friction coefficient: 0.25-0.4). The strain-rate complements the slip-rate values and represent permanent long-term averages of the strain-rate in a model with faults. Therefore, the strain-rate cannot be used independently from the correspondent slip-rate results. |
