Horizontal velocity map derived from averaging velocities of the best 50 among 33,000 forward finite-element anelastic models. The 50 best models have been selected according to the minimum misfit between the model predictions and several experimental datasets. The velocities represent long-term averages and can be used to predict long term anelastic behaviour of the crust.
Notice that a comparison with GPS measurements requires the elastic correction to be applied.
